Celebrating National Polka Dot Day with Loungefly
This past weekend, January 21st and 22nd, we broke out the polka dots to celebrate National Polka Dot Day at The Grove in Los Angeles!
We wrapped a glass box truck to match one of our latest collections – the Minnie Mouse Pastel Polka Dot collection. Over 1,000 people stopped by, and they had the chance to sip on gourmet lemonade with boba as they explored and shopped the collection and took Insta-worthy snapshots in the photobooth.

“This was our first-ever fan activation of this kind. It was really cool for the Loungefly team to see how excited established fans of the brand were to attend and to introduce Loungefly to people who had never heard about it before. It was amazing to have the opportunity to create new Loungefly fans. For some, it was their first time ever purchasing a Loungefly and we were able to give them a warm welcome to the Loungefly family.
“I had seen something similar done in New York and it stuck with me when I was thinking about a fun way to show off a brand-new collection, but also to get our fans involved in a way that wasn’t running to a store or ordering something online. The idea stemmed from wanting fans to be immersed in our brand storytelling in a way they’ve never been able to before. When you walked into the truck, you were immersed in the pastel colors and polka dots – you were in the bag!
“Minnie has always been a fashion icon of mine, and when I saw this collection, it clicked that it was the perfect collection to showcase. It’s fun, it’s bright, and it’s nostalgic. I loved the idea of having gourmet lemonade in different colors and the option of boba to represent polka dots. I tried to think of all the ways we could have a truly immersive experience – you’re able to touch the product and drink the lemonade, and who doesn’t love a good photo op?
“Whether this was someone’s first exposure to Loungefly or their 100th purchase, everyone had a great time celebrating the brand.”
Our next public event will be our first-time collaboration with Paul Frank on Balboa Island on Saturday, February 11, 2023.
